Minshuku Iwaki

We were glad we stayed in this neighborhood house. It gave us the chance to experience a traditional Japanese home, and it was convenient for sightseeing and great value. You can see Mt. Fuji from the house, the main street by the bus station, and the lake. Our private room was spacious, with two traditional floor mattresses and a low table with two cushions for eating in the room. The bathroom downstairs is very large. We had a private toilet upstairs, and there are other toilets downstairs too. The host was kind, bringing a tea tray at check-in and taking us to the train station when we checked out. For getting around, it’s an easy eight-minute walk to a bus stop and a 25-minute walk to the main bus and train station. The lake entrance is eight minutes away. There’s a supermarket and several restaurants by the bus stop.

Our shared bathroom was always very clean, and the hotel itself was nice and tidy. The host was super friendly, served us lovely tea when we arrived, and picked us up from the station. We could see Mount Fuji from our window, all for a reasonable price. Thank you 🫰🏻🫰🏻

We got in before check-in, and the host kindly offered to collect our bags from the station, which helped a lot. He was easy to reach, always ready to answer questions, and happy to help. Our room had a beautiful view of Fuji.

There’s plenty of parking, and the place is in a quiet part of Kawaguchiko. Several restaurants and a family mart are within walking distance. It’s a lovely budget Ryokan, with a friendly host, spotless facilities, and great views of Mt. Fuji.
