The couple who own this little inn were lovely, kind, and generous. They speak only a little English, but did their best to accommodate us. We enjoyed the traditional Japanese experience and found the location great, close to kawaguchi station and within walking distance of Mt. Fuji scenery. There's a shared bathhouse, and we were lucky to have it to ourselves during our stay. Dinner was such a generous serving that I felt bad not finishing it. Coin laundry machines are available, too. I'd highly recommend the place.

Booking dinner with our room was the best decision. The kind grandma and grandpa made it themselves, and it was sooo delicious. We had the best time at this cute Ryokan. I'd recommend it to anyone visiting Kawaguchiko and hope to come back.

We slept well in the quiet rooms. The hotel is beautiful and very clean, and the equipment, including the AC, is top quality. The hosts were helpful and friendly, and it's conveniently close to the station.

We spent 25 days travelling, and at 110 euros a night this was one of our most expensive hotels. We had a number of serious problems. Dinner was paid for, but they pushed us to eat very early and wouldn't serve us later, even though that clashed with our plans. One evening we wanted to open a bottle of wine a friend had given us, but they wouldn't let us drink it with dinner and told us to have it in our room. Morning showers in the shared area were forbidden, and our room had no shower. There was no air drier in the room, either. We didn't feel like paying guests receiving service. It felt as though we were asking a favor just to use space in their house. When we asked to have dinner at 7, they said normal people eat at 6, implying we weren't normal. We were polite throughout, but got several very rude responses. We didn't feel treated as customers.

We arrived after an early morning hike back from Mount Fuji, so being allowed to check in at 11am was a real help, even though communication was difficult. Google Translate got us through it 😅. The friendly couple running this traditional ryokan were very accommodating. Our tatami room was spacious, cozy, and well equipped, and there’s a shared traditional bathroom with a hot bath. The train and bus station and a few places to eat are all about a five-minute walk away. We skipped the dinner package, though the Japanese home-cooked meal looked good and reasonably priced. We’d happily recommend staying here.
