Grand Park Hotel Odate

I liked the room's extra space, the coffee table, and the larger bed, which worked well for someone tall like me. They also provide proper pajamas with pants and long sleeves, instead of the long shirt robes some hotels use. My one complaint is the bathroom. It needs updating to better meet different customers' needs.

The room was fairly clean and the staff were polite, but I don't think I'll return. It was just too noisy. Room 422 was right by the lift, and the door barely blocked sound. I could hear people waiting and talking, especially early in the morning as guests checked out, and I was woken at 6 AM. The air conditioner was loud too, like a typhoon in the room even on its lowest setting. I couldn't sleep with it running, so I switched it off, but then the room got very warm. I had no good option. Water pipes could also be heard throughout the room, especially when people were showering or using the toilet during busy times. One leg of the bed had come off. Since it was nearly midnight, I didn't want to call the front desk, so I lifted the bed, found the wheel, and fixed it myself.

I was traveling overnight by car the day before and ended up exhausted, but still had about three hours to wait before the 3:30 PM check-in. I wondered if checking in early was possible. When I asked, they said it would cost a full night's rate, so I canceled. The hotel called me back and said I could check in at 2:00 PM if they'd finished cleaning by then. I really appreciated them trying to help, especially since I was worn out from the trip. I stayed the night and had breakfast, so I wanted to post about it.

So far, things have been good. The room key is the one thing that needs an upgrade, it's difficult to open the door.
