Togawaso

A gem. This has been our favorite stay in Japan so far. Authentic, clean, and spacious, with a really generous breakfast. The hosts are so lovely. Definitely recommend it!

Breakfast is well worth adding. One day it's Japanese-style, the next Western-style, and both were generous and delicious. The shared facilities were spotless and very well cared for, and there are two public hot baths, one for women and one for men. They switch them each day so you can try both while you're there. Towagaso's hosts are attentive and kind, and made us feel at home. The traditional rooms have futons and tatami, with beautiful views of Mount Fuji or Lake Kawaguchi. The sakura in spring makes the scenery especially lovely. There's a cozy common room with free tea or coffee, a nice garden looking toward Fuji, and easy access to a scenic walk by Lake Kawaguchi. We'd happily come back if we get the chance.

A lovely hotel, and the view of Mt Fuji is right there. The public bath area and its staff were wonderful, and the customer service was great. I'll definitely return and recommend it to everyone!

The hosts made our stay feel traditional and relaxing. They were so kind, helpful, and friendly, and even drove us to Kawaguchi Station in the morning despite the weather. We could use their bikes for free, and there was a beautiful onsen in the shared bathroom. A hundred percent recommend.
