Lake Saiko is away from the tourist crowds, so the setting is quiet and peaceful, with a nice view of Mount Fuji. It’s a lovely traditional Ryokan, and the hosts are very friendly.

The owner was kind and friendly. The accommodation is Japanese style, with futons in a tatami room. Wi-Fi and parking are available, but breakfast isn’t included.

We were there for a nature class. The woman was very kind, and the food was delicious, especially the curry.

The service was excellent, and everything was very clean. The road to the parking lot is narrow, which makes parking tricky, though there was room for several cars. Some rooms lock, and some don’t. There are two bathrooms, and it seems you’re meant to use them when no one else is in them. They get crowded if you wait until after about 10 PM, and it seemed like morning use was discouraged. You can go out, but it’s best to be back by 10 PM, so pick up anything you need beforehand. There aren’t any convenience stores nearby. There was a hot water pot, so instant ramen or something similar could work as a late-night snack. You can rent a yukata-style nightgown for 150 yen. I was satisfied with the cleanliness and excellent service.

The place felt new, clean, bright, and spacious, with a roomy dining area. The people were warm and polite, and we felt at home. I’d recommend it.
