Asama no Iori

We spent an hour sipping coffee at the Kotatsu and looking at Fuji. The view is awesome, and the houses are well designed and fully equipped. Arakurayama's stairs are about a minute away, so it was easy to visit late at night or early in the morning. For the price, it's really good value. The coffee provided with the amenities was good too. It does get cold overnight if you turn off the AC, like in most houses in Japan, so plan ahead.

Getting a reply has been difficult. We booked and paid for a villa through Airbnb, but our messages there have gone unanswered even after a few tries. I also emailed through their own site and heard nothing. Calling seems like the only option, which is awkward from overseas with the time difference. It'd be great if they responded to messages and emails.

We'd happily come back. The accommodation has a perfect view of Mount Fuji, and the staff were super friendly with outstanding service. It's right by the famous Pagoda and also close to the train station. 10/10.

The host went to a lot of effort to make us comfortable, leaving little "Suzu" bells and snacks. The kotatsu was especially welcome in the late winter cold. The place was cozy and clean, with a great view of mount Fuji, and it's very close to the staircase up Arakurayama Sengen Shrine.
