Hostel Fujisan YOU

It felt like a home away from home. The owner was very friendly and accommodating, even though he didn’t talk much, and the common areas were clean and cozy. I met travelers from all over in the lounge. The hostel is a short walk from the local train station, and on clear days you get lovely views of Mt. Fuji. I especially liked the peaceful atmosphere and being able to unwind close to nature without spending much. If you want an affordable, welcoming place to stay near Mt. Fuji, I’d recommend it.

The location is handy, close to the train station, and the rooms and showers were very clean. The owner is kind and bakes bread for guests. He also rents out a nice road bike for 1000 yen per day, which is a great way to explore and get around.

The place had a quiet location and felt like a cozy family home for a weekend. Everything was clean and organized, with instructions and rules clearly labeled in English and Japanese. They provided towels, sandals, razors, toothbrushes, hair dryers, shampoo, and shower gel. Free homemade bread, coffee, and bananas were a lovely bonus in the morning. It’s beside a spot for taking Mount Fuji photos, and the Pagoda is within walking distance. The bathrooms are split into men’s and women’s sections, while the bedrooms have comfortable double beds. With clear skies, you might even see Mount Fuji from your window. Check-in and check-out were easy, and I’d happily return. For a nearby meal, I recommend Ramen Izakaya Marugoto Hokkaido.

The host was extremely helpful and flexible with our travel plans, and the five-minute walk to the train station made arriving and leaving easy. My friends and I usually avoid hostels, but we were pleasantly surprised here. We shared a four-bed room, with the common area and bathrooms shared with other guests. I’d recommend this place to anyone staying in Fujisan, especially if you’re planning to climb Fuji.
