Maisan-chi Guesthouse & Cafe

The view of Mount Fuji from the bed and dining room was amazing, and the bed itself was really comfortable. Breakfast was incredible, seriously good. Everything felt clean and cozy, and the location worked really well. The host seemed a little cold, but that was a small thing. I had a great time and would definitely recommend it.

The homemade breakfast was free, incredibly tasty, and served in a traditional Japanese house. The place had a cozy, comfortable interior, with a great kitchen and tatami. My room had a small window looking out at Fujisan, plus a very soft, warm blanket. The pagoda is about a 30-minute walk away. Awesome!

Don’t miss the free breakfast, served in a traditional cafe outside the guesthouse. Mai makes it fresh by hand each morning, but be sure to reserve and order before 9 pm the previous night so she has time to prepare it. The guesthouse room was sparkling clean, and Mai has put a lot into the design. Guests can enjoy lovely shared spaces, washrooms, and shower rooms, plus a communal area with a great view of Mt. Fuji and lots of amenities. We had an absolutely lovely stay and strongly recommend it to any traveler.

The room has a Japanese tatami style, and the place felt really cozy. Toilets and showers are shared with other guests along the corridor. Upstairs, there’s a kitchen area with all sorts of amenities. The person managing the property was friendly and helpful with what we needed. Free breakfast is included if you order the day before, and it’s served in another building. Highly recommended.
