I enjoyed staying here, especially the view toward Dinosaur Square. The hotel is right outside Fukui Station, with plenty of food options in the station and nearby buildings. Toyoko Inn's rooms are among the largest I've had at hotels, and breakfast is served in the morning.

The room was too small for two people, with nowhere to put both suitcases. When we asked for extra pillows and a stool, nobody brought them up, so we had to go down to the lobby. Reception was reluctant to give us another stool and eventually handed over a chair from the lobby. We won't stay here again. Even with the train station nearby, we can find somewhere better for the same price.

You can't go wrong with Toyoko Inn. We could even see the dinosaurs from our room, which I loved.

Getting here on foot is easy from both the train and bus stations. Happiring is nearby for meals and souvenirs, and Fukui Station itself has plenty to offer too.

Good location, and there's private parking. One of the parking staff was helpful and explained in good English why the vehicle lift couldn't be used, then suggested somewhere else to park because of the January 1 earthquake. The breakfast is traditional Japanese only, so there isn't any bread. The toilet was a little bigger than I expected.
