Courtyard By Marriott Fukui

I usually stay at Marriott hotels on vacation, and Courtyard Fukui beat my expectations. It's a modern, very clean hotel near the train station, with plenty of good restaurants around. My room felt cozy and inviting, with smart use of space and a relaxing feel. I was trying to photograph the stunning Fukui view from the check-in floor when a staff member noticed and enthusiastically pointed out the best spot, even though helping guests wasn't part of his job. We could only communicate with gestures, but his warmth and thoughtfulness stuck with me. I slept well, left refreshed, and was very satisfied. Highly recommended!

Watching the sunset over the Fukui mountains through the huge panoramic windows was mesmerizing. My room was comfortable to sleep in, with lovely lighting, designer coffee cups and glasses, welcome sweets, and a water purifier that was much nicer than bottled water. The hotel is new, comfortable, and in a great spot in Fukui. Staff were friendly, spoke English, offered early check-in, and agreed to clean my room outside the regular time. Wonderful service. A few things could be better for me: the synthetic pajamas were awful, and I couldn't wear them. Please replace them with cotton ones. The TV didn't have Netflix enabled, which disappointed me. Even three-star hotels have Netflix now. Room amenities should also include Q-tips.

DEC 25 The views were fantastic, and the room was large, clean, and extremely comfortable. It had complimentary amenities. Check-in staff were friendly and professional. The hotel is close to the train station, accessible food options, and a breakfast buffet with mountain views. Service was exceptional when our toddler became unwell and vomited on the bed. We felt awful, but staff reassured us, cleaned up, and replaced the sheets and protector. They also went the extra mile to clean, readjust, and refill other things after we said they didn't need to.

From my 1-Bedroom Suite on the 23rd floor, the panoramic city views were spectacular, especially when the Hokuriku Shinkansen went by. At restaurant "Fukui" I had the Echizen Crab course, and it was mind-blowing. The crab was succulent and full of flavor, and every course dish felt like a masterpiece. If you love seafood, it's a "must-try" experience in Fukui.
