The room was very clean, but there was no washlette (bidet). Noise was a problem too. I could hear everything around me, especially from the next room, and there was construction at about 2am. My pet and I couldn’t sleep.

It’s a cosy little spot for spending the night, fairly close to the train station with plenty of amenities and good restaurants nearby. The soundproofing could be better.

We brought our Shiba Inu, and it’s unusual to find a place in this area and price range that feels so relaxed about pets. Pet supplies were ready to use, and the wide toilet sheets were especially helpful. It seems like very good value if you’re traveling with a pet. Still, parts of the room hadn’t been cleaned well. There was a thick layer of dust on the air conditioner and the top of the door, the bathroom smelled, and some unidentifiable insects had gotten inside. That was disappointing.

The one thing I liked was how close it is to downtown Tenjin and other areas. But the room we were shown on the first floor was nothing like the website description, and 31,000 yen for that quality felt outrageous. For me, it was worth less than 8,000 yen. The bathroom was awful, especially the shower. The narrow drain smelled disgusting, the floor was dented and peeling, and there was mold around the door. Thin walls let us hear everything inside and outside. There were no free outlets, and they didn’t provide pajamas or face wash. It was supposedly dog-friendly, but the room was too small and had no dog supplies. The rooftop dog run was in terrible condition. Though it had netting and other fall-prevention measures, there were holes and tears large enough for a small dog to get through. The netting was worn out and shedding pieces, and the sandbags were torn. It was the worst dog run I’ve ever seen. We drove and were directed to an unaffiliated parking lot. They said a day’s parking would cost no more than 1,800 yen, so I used the closest lot, but it charged 2,300 yen. I couldn’t understand why. I don’t usually book on the same day, and I really regret wasting my money this time. I feel bad for the dogs. (cries) I don’t understand the high ratings. I’m sure the restaurant itself is writing positive reviews. I’d only recommend it to young people or foreigners who just want a place to sleep. I especially wouldn’t recommend it for people with dogs. It wasn’t as good as the reviews made it sound.

In March 2024, I stayed two nights with my husband and cat in room ROOM 8. We flew from Tokyo, and the trip from Fukuoka Airport to near Tenjin Minami Station took about 40 minutes. The young female owner greeted us and kindly showed us to the room. She loves caring for cats and had gathered a lot of information about local hotels while we chatted in the room. The renovated room was clean, with a unit bath, refrigerator, and Airdog. Cleaning supplies were kept in the shared hallway. My cat is nervous and timid, but it was clean enough that he used the toilet without worry. He usually reacts to the smell of other animals, but here he didn’t seem bothered and urinated calmly as usual. We normally wipe him down thoroughly after he uses the toilet, so he stays clean even when sleeping on the futon. He relaxed and lay on it, and seemed happy. He spent much of the time gazing out the window and ignoring us. There’s a dog run on the roof, but it was raining, so I didn’t take any photos. Lots of tasty restaurants are nearby. The owner suggested Issho, a Japanese seafood restaurant along Watanabedori, for dinner. I recommend the sashimi and grilled mackerel. Kitaro-san is also worth a try. For breakfast, we went to nearby hotel buffets. They cost a few hundred yen more since we weren’t guests, and you have to reserve the day before. As we stayed two nights, we got to try breakfast at two different hotels. The place is also near Tenjin Underground Mall and Canal City, and there’s a bus stop about a minute away, so we could take the bus back from tourist spots. Since breakfast isn’t provided here, it would be great if the owner could arrange buffet reservations at nearby hotels and share dining information for people traveling with pets, like the front desk does at hotels in Hokkaido. Please do your best to collaborate. There’s an Airdog in the room, but it doesn’t disinfect. Ozone O3 can disinfect the source of odors and help with hygiene. At the hotel in Nikko Kinugawa, many animal guests leave various smells behind, so I recommended ozone. We also use it at home to clean and disinfect the cat litter box and litter, and we keep ozone water on the dentist’s examination table. It’s effective for rinsing your mouth.
