Crystal & Resort Fukuoka

The train noise was quite noticeable because the hotel is so close to the station, though getting to Hakata and Tenjin was easy. I booked a cute blue room for my sightseeing trip to Fukuoka, but a facilities problem meant they showed me to a larger, plainer room instead. I was a little disappointed since I’d been looking forward to the cute one, but the replacement was spacious and comfortable. The toilet and bathroom are separate, which is a big plus. There’s a kitchen too, so you can cook, although I didn’t use it.

My room had a fantastic view, and it was neat and clean with a distinctive look. There’s lots to see around this beautiful location.

I called several months ahead to book, but they told me to call again when I arrived and wouldn’t accept a reservation in advance. When I asked how far ahead they take bookings, the answer was simply that they would decide then. It’s hard to believe they don’t seem to offer reservations. I was traveling for business, so I asked whether it was a business hotel. They said some people use it as a love hotel, then told me it was a hotel, not a business hotel. They explained it could be used for various purposes by many kinds of people. I decided to stay somewhere else for safety reasons. Their response to my inquiry was so arrogant that I’ll never use this hotel.

The nearest station is Najima Station, and there’s a supermarket close by, which is handy. Weekday prices are cheap, but it gets quite expensive before holidays and on public holidays. I wish the price were a little lower before holidays. It looks like an empty room in an apartment where someone lives was renovated into this place. The room is spacious, the colors match, and it feels clean. There’s a washing machine with one detergent, disposable slippers, a TV, and plenty of options.
