Grand Hyatt Fukuoka

The staff really stood out. A companion of mine needed a doctor, and they were friendly and accommodating, recommending a nearby one where she got the help she needed. When she had left an item at another hotel, they helped arrange for it to arrive here within 12 hours. I also spent my birthday here and got a delicious cake in my room, plus fresh fruit at Club breakfast. Our room was spacious with an amazing bathroom, though the bed felt a little hard. The Club Floor had a wide range of food, snacks and drinks. The hotel is connected to the city's biggest mall, with good shopping and food. There are also some spectacular, affordable places to eat in the hotel's basement. It’s by the Fukuoka canal area and reasonably close to the station. I couldn't recommend this hotel more.

The Grand Club was a highlight, with outstanding food and a Head Chef who personally greeted guests. I also enjoyed the spa, pool and gym, and the B1 dining area, especially "Unagi no Eito." The team were kind and thoughtful throughout. They brought my luggage to the room, then refreshed the towels and water in the afternoon without being asked. When I struggled to book a restaurant because of the language barrier, the concierge helped and shared useful local tips. As a Globalist, I appreciated the room upgrade, welcome gift and generous 4 p.m. checkout. The English-speaking staff made me feel at home right away. Staying here during my Kyushu trip was a lovely way to recharge.

We’ve stayed at the Grand Hyatt Fukuoka three times now and still enjoy coming back. It’s an older hotel, but it’s very well kept and the cleanliness is top-tier. The location is hard to beat: right by Canal City for shopping and food, with a huge Onitsuka Tiger store there. We liked being close to the fountain light show, Ichiran Ramen and the local Yatai stalls, and it’s an easy walk to both Hakata Station and Tenjin. The Grand Club staff are the main reason we keep praising the service. The food is good, and the Club Concierge has been consistently helpful and professional. This trip she went out of her way to help me call the Onitsuka Tiger store. On our previous visit, the team also secured an appointment at Van Cleef. Arrival has been a little inconsistent. Across three stays, we’ve only checked in at the Club Lounge with a welcome drink once. This time, and on the visit before, we were sent to the regular check-in counter without one. Consistent recognition for Club guests on arrival would make the experience perfect. We love the hotel and will be back.

The Grand Club Lounge had a great breakfast spread and cocktail hour. I had fresh sashimi every morning, plus choices like congee, Japanese dishes and Western food. The rooms feel dated, but they were spotless. Mine had a large bathroom with a separate shower and soaking tub, and the shower pressure was excellent. The staff were friendly and always ready to help, and the location is phenomenal, directly connected to Canal City Hakata.
