Our whole family stayed on the second floor and found it very comfortable. The location is excellent, right by Kokusai Street and the prefectural government building station. If you've got a day trip the next morning, the meeting point is a five-minute walk away. To reach the guesthouse entrance, you first have to cross a small alley on the ground floor. It's often smoky, though the izakaya next door is delicious. There are a few small insects on the first floor, and the stairs are narrow, so take care.

For a central, affordable family stay, this place is very convenient, tucked into a little alley off Kokusai-dori. It's between yakiniku restaurants, and small cockroaches sometimes crawl up from the one downstairs, but that didn't spoil our mood. Watch the stairs with children, though. Kids like climbing up and down, and an adult needs to keep a close eye on them or they could fall.

The air conditioning was barely doing anything when I stayed in July, honestly weaker than a fan. The quilt had a damp smell, and smoke from the barbecue downstairs came straight in because the second-floor windows couldn't be opened. The staircase was tiny too, so getting upstairs with luggage took real care.

Yellowed sheets and blankets made me wonder whether they were washed at all, and there were an unbelievable number of tiny cockroaches. I really don't understand how this place got so many good reviews on Booking.com...
