I spent three nights in a mixed dorm. The front desk workers were really nice, and the facility itself was nice too. Showers were well stocked, and the women’s side stayed locked behind a keypad door for safety. The dorms, though, were always very warm and often smelled like a sweaty locker room, probably because they didn’t get aired out much. Hair also built up fast on the shower floors and in the sinks. They clean the showers from 1 pm to 5 pm, but it gathers again quickly. The workers seemed to be all men.

The location is fairly close to downtown, about 10-15 minutes away. There’s an open kitchenette and a small lounge area, though it feels more like a big entrance hall than a proper living room. The staff are there, but at reception they didn’t show me around or explain much about the hostel. You’re pretty much on your own unless you ask for something, so there’s little contact beyond “hello, here’s your key, goodbye.” It feels like a guest house or hostel, more than a hotel with any charm. Even if it’s a cheaper place, service matters, and I’d have liked at least some real communication.

The location is fantastic, the staff were friendly, and the facilities were really clean. Check-in wasn’t until 5 PM, and the dorm room had a strong body odor smell from so many people sleeping together. Those were the only downsides.

The price is reasonable, and reception staff can speak Korean. The facilities aren’t great, though: no clothes, no locker, and no free toothbrush. It wasn’t especially clean or quiet either.

The owner can speak English, and there’s free Wi-Fi and a passcode, which makes the place feel somewhat safe. It’s clean, but a little far from the station and the bed was uncomfortable. A lot of services aren’t included in the price, such as a hair dryer, shampoo and towel.
