HIT Tenjin

The room was spacious and felt safe, with convenience stores nearby. Great location, close to both the subway and bus stations.

The room had plenty of space for the three of us, two adults and one child, which was a welcome change from how tiny many other Japan hotels are. It's also in a great spot, very close to Tenjin station exit, with lots nearby, including a Lawson downstairs and Mina mall next door with Uniqlo, GU, Loft and more. The check-in instructions sent beforehand can be long and confusing, so read them carefully. They answered emails very quickly, and we had no trouble getting help with check-in, trash disposal, or anything else. My one concern is the bed frames: their corners were really sharp. They should add protectors or round them off, since they could hurt young children crawling around. Even so, I'd still recommend this place.

I booked two nights through Booking.com for February 4th and 5th, 2026. The check-in process was the most tedious part. After 3:00 PM, you start at the tablet by the entrance, with the resident mailbox on the right and tablet on the left. The hotel emails a registration website at around 8:30 AM on check-in day, so you can fill in your details on your phone while waiting and save time. If you do that, you'll get a QR code to scan at the tablet, then follow the prompts to receive a 6-digit room key. Use the 4-digit key on the wall keypad to enter the second lobby door, then the 6-digit key for your room door. At check-in, they also charge an additional accommodation tax of 200 RMB per person, per night. The room has basic kitchenware, a slightly soft mattress, and good heating. There's a washer-dryer, but no detergent. Mine was a Sharp upright dryer, which takes a long time and isn't as efficient as a front-loader, so avoid putting too many clothes in at once. The city center gets very noisy at night, with ambulances and speeding cars. You'll need to go to bed early and wear earplugs if you want to block the sound.
