The cleaning was good apart from the toilet, and that one issue really let the room down. Under the seat there were dried urine stains all over, which was disappointing. If the toilet had been clean, I’d have given it four stars. A bigger choice of shampoos would have made it five. I stayed in the second-highest grade room over Obon, paying 16,000 yen a night. The lighting was dim, especially in the bathroom, though I can see how it helps create an atmosphere. I hope the staff see this.

We had a peaceful, quiet space to enjoy, and the hospitality was the best.

The interior was beautiful, but the service was so bad that I never want to return. My friend and I were in separate groups, two people in each room. When I called the front desk to ask them to open the door so I could hand something over, they suddenly got angry: “Pay up before you leave. No handing over items. If you have a problem, get out.” As soon as they realized we were younger, they stopped speaking politely. Earlier, we’d just been chatting quietly in the hallway when we were told, “Are you canceling? If you’re coming in, don’t talk.” We were startled. I also asked if I could step out once to get shampoo from the front desk and was told that wasn’t allowed. You’re paid to do your job, so do it.

Really clean room, and the amenities were great too. I’d recommend it for couples.

The woman at the front desk had a bad attitude.
