Hotel Sol - Adults Only

The staff were lovely, and I had a wonderful stay. My room on the seventh floor had a great view, so if that matters, ask for rooms 1 to 7. There’s a balcony too, though mine was very dusty. Some of the Booking.com complaints seem off to me. People said there was no view, but mine was lovely. It’s a Love Hotel, so views aren’t usually expected. The room service was superb, and there are lots of restaurants about a 15-minute walk away, plus two combi just around the corner. The free beer in the lobby is alcohol free. There’s no lift from the car park to the lobby, so don’t bring huge suitcases.

The staff were super friendly, and although they don’t speak English, they know how to use translation on their phones. There are plenty of them, too. The rooms are huge compared with normal hotels in Japan. I found the place utterly confusing as someone who’d never been to a "love hotel," even though I knew that’s what it was thanks to previous Google Maps reviewers. The hotel looks like it hasn’t changed since 1971, with lots of brown woodwork and brown sofas. If that’s your thing, this is the place to stay in Fukuoka! I couldn’t see an elevator and ended up carrying my suitcase up three floors, or at least it felt like three. Didn’t enjoy that.

On a cold winter night, the jacuzzi was a real treat. The room was roomy, and I liked being able to choose a breakfast set that they brought to the room. You can also see the port skyline. Outstanding hotel.

My wife and I stayed here in February 2024 and really appreciated how complete the hotel felt, especially for such an affordable price. The room had moisturizers, loofas, a jacuzzi tub, and even its own vending machine.
