mizuka Nakasu 5 - unmanned hotel -

The location is fantastic, with public transport close enough. The beds were comfortable, and it was English friendly.

The space is small.

Please think very carefully before booking here. I had a serious problem with the room and was left bearing the cost myself. The cleanliness was the biggest issue. I was assigned the room at the far left end of the third floor, and as soon as I walked in there was a "rotting corpse stench." I reported it, but it took an hour and a half for a representative to arrive. They checked the room and agreed it couldn't be used, so I asked for a refund. Because it was a weekend booking, I had to reserve somewhere else at more than 1.5 times the price, losing a lot of money and time. The tablet reservation and check-in system is run by staff who aren't Japanese and are based an hour away from the hotel. If something goes wrong, they can't respond quickly. In my view, the hotel or booking system should offer a solution when this happens, but both turned a blind eye and left me, the person who booked, to absorb the loss. To avoid the kind of damage I experienced, think twice before reserving here.

The room was adequate for the price, and the email replies were clear and polite. I had been concerned after seeing some negative reviews. One thing to watch is the stairs when getting up to and down from the bed.
