N.33 Hakata Sta. East

It’s close to the JR Station, about a four-minute walk. There’s no service, so you have to check in yourself and get all the passwords before check-in.

They gave us the same breakfast sandwich every day for all four days. We didn’t want it to go to waste, even though we would have preferred to buy something outside. The shared area’s two microwaves were greasy and grimy inside, so I decided not to use them. In our room, I found dust on the light switch, table, bed frame, air purifier, hangers, and other spots. There was even a cup with yellow grime that I couldn’t wash off. The room itself was spacious, which I was glad to see when we arrived, and I took a break before looking around. At check-in, I’d planned to pay there, but first wanted to verify the separate cleaning fee in my booking confirmation email. The male receptionist spoke politely in Japanese, but his manner made me feel as if I were doing something wrong just by checking the fee. The place was cheap, but I still had these issues.

The apartment has a big balcony where we could dry clothes, and there was enough room for our family of two plus one. It’s just a three-to-five-minute walk from Hakata station, which is really convenient. A stronger shower would have made the stay better, and longer stays need more garbage bags. Also, be careful on the upper bunk, there’s a beam above where your head and legs go.

It was about an eight-minute walk from Hakata Station to the place and the actual check-in location. The room looked clean at first, but there was quite a bit of dust around the doors and windows.
