Nishitetsu Inn Fukuoka

The three person room was huge. Staff were courteous, but the service was basic and they didn’t go out of their way. Compared with other Japanese hotels, breakfast was mediocre and a little pricey. The restaurant starts closing down at 8:30am even though the posted time was 9:00am, so if you want things like bacon or sausage, you need to get there really early.

It’s an okay budget friendly hotel, though it’s not very clean. I guess people stay here because of the location and proximity to major attractions.

I’d give this 0 if I could. We stayed for two nights starting April 19th and booked two triple rooms, but the experience was extremely unpleasant. There was hair and staining all over the furniture, and what looked like dried mucus in the wash basins. Staff said it was a pattern, but I can clearly confirm it was a piece of dried mucus. The cleanliness was unacceptable and left me feeling uncomfortable and sensitive. After I complained, they offered to move us to two double rooms. There were six of us, so that arrangement was completely inadequate and didn’t give us enough space. The cleaning standards and the solution offered just aren’t acceptable. I wouldn’t recommend staying here at all.

The location isn’t bad, and the lobby and front desk are spacious and clean. That’s about the only good thing I can say. We stayed one night on 6 December 2024 and couldn’t bear another, so we looked for somewhere else. The halls were musty with old, stained carpets as soon as we stepped out of the lift. The rooms were just as bad: peeling walls, mold on the shower curtains, stains on the bathtub, and a few spiders. Unless someone refreshes the hotel and keeps it from looking as though it hasn’t been cleaned since the 80s, it’s a hard pass. No one should put themselves through this at this price.
