Hotel Resol Trinity Hakata

The room felt cozy, and I really liked its lighting. It was roomier than many hotels in big Japanese cities, and the 13th-floor lobby had a lovely view that made a great first impression. The location was convenient too, a short walk from the tube station and close to a shopping area. I’d booked a smoking room because it was the only option on the website, but asked at check-in if I could switch to non-smoking. Mr. Kim at the front desk was extremely kind and helpful, and managed to arrange one for me. I really appreciated his service. Breakfast was the one uncomfortable part. A woman who works in both the kitchen and at reception was polite to local guests, but her manner changed noticeably when she realized I was a foreigner, even though I tried to communicate in Japanese. She just said “TICKET!” very directly and abruptly, and it left an impression. Aside from that, I had a very pleasant stay and would still recommend the hotel.

The hotel is very convenient for getting around. It’s near lots of restaurants, a two-minute walk from a station on the airport line, and about 10 minutes from both the Tenjin shopping area and Canal City on the other side. The room was comfortable and a suitable size for our family of four. Two of the beds were up some stairs, but they were still large. The staff were accommodating and there were plenty of amenities. We also had en-suite bathrooms and public baths available, with extra security for the women’s public bath. I’d definitely come back if I needed to.

The manager blamed me for an issue that had nothing to do with the staff problem. Instead of taking responsibility for Higa's shortcomings and repugnant behavior, she manipulated the situation. Disgusting.

The room was clean, and the lobby was lovely. Breakfast was pretty good too. The frustrating part was check-in: the front desk staff spoke no English, which made things difficult for us as tourists who don't speak Japanese. Better English training for the staff handling arrivals would help.
