Sky Heart Hotel Hakata

The entrance was stairs only, which was a real hassle with my leg problems. My room door was moldy, and the knob felt unpleasantly sticky. The room also seemed smaller than the reservation description. When I lay on the bed, my head, neck, and underarms started stinging. By the next morning my skin was irritated and itchy. I've been taking antihistamines every day since, assuming it's an allergy, and putting Cerestat cream on the itchy areas. I can't easily apply it to my head, and the stinging and itching there are still going on. I'm worried about how long this will last and whether I'll need medical care if it gets worse. I'm so angry about how my one-night hotel stay turned out.

The staff seemed friendly, and the location is within walking distance of Hakata station. That was the only real plus for me. The room had a strong musty smell, and, as others have said, there was lots of black mold in the washroom. The advertised WiFi didn't work in my room and barely worked in the hallway. There's a washer and dryer, but the dryer barely dries anything, so clothes end up wet.

For the price, it was fair. The receptionists were nice and the bed fairly comfortable, and cleaning was okay. It's near Gino station. The toilet smelled, the facilities were old, and some things weren't working properly. Pretty much on par.

Canal City is very close, about a 4-8 minute walk. This was my first stay, and I wasn't very impressed. The room was small, which I expected in Japan, and the bed was called a double but looked more like a twin. Since the hotel WiFi is very weak from the sixth floor up, they gave me a portable MiFi.
