The Ritz-Carlton, Fukuoka

My family and I had an outstanding stay at The Ritz Carlton Hotel in Fukuoka. It's the best hotel we've stayed at so far in Japan, and we're very grateful for the hospitality to our kids. They loved the warm welcome and thoughtful attention. For our older son's birthday, Isamu from the Guest team brought him a basketball signed in several different languages by their team. The staff were friendly and professional throughout, and really went the extra mile. Erica made the kids feel comfortable and helped us plan our sightseeing. I often struggle to find vegan food at hotels in Japan, but David spoke with the chef, who made me delicious fried rice and stir-fry vegetables. That really touched me, since other Japanese hotels usually just say to eat whatever I can from the buffet. Sunil, who is Nepali, was very helpful in finding vegetarian options around town. For the first time, I didn't have to eat cup noodles in my room. I hope more hotels keep adding vegan options. The service made the trip relaxing and memorable for our whole family. We couldn't have asked for a better experience, and highly recommend it, especially for families looking for warm hospitality and great service.

The swimming pool was the standout for me. Its deck has gorgeous panoramic views and feels serene, high above the busy city. If you can, get a bay-view room too, the water and skyline views were breathtaking. This is a true ultra-luxury experience in Fukuoka. The hotel is stunning and feels very high-tech. Everything from the hardware to the service is top-tier. If you're after the best of the best here, this is it.

The concierge and check-in service stood out during my stay. The room was a little modest in size, and parts of the club lounge experience were somewhat limited, but everything else was handled with careful attention and refined hospitality. I left with a very positive impression, and the stay met my expectations.

The rooftop terrace at sunset was worth the visit on its own, and the city views were exceptional. Our room was vast and spotlessly clean, with thoughtful details taken care of without asking. We ordered ice one evening, and they left ice for us each night afterwards, just in case. Housekeeping also made little touches, like folding a small origami basket for my spare change and lining up my wife's makeup and lotions on the table. We had an extraordinary stay with the team at the Fukuoka Ritz Carlton. It was our first time with the group, and it met and exceeded our expectations. The staff were wonderful and endlessly helpful. Peter at the Bay bar was a brilliant barman, and one evening, when my wife went up to the room before me, he hand-delivered a little cake to her. It's certainly an indulgence, but they really did deliver at this level. They even spotted a small mistake on the final bill and refunded us the 5 quid difference. I'd recommend it again and again to anyone exploring Western Japan who wants a hotel at this level.
