SYA Hotel-祇園

The place is clean, with modern, spacious facilities, and everything you need is provided on site except for cooking. It worked well for a stay with babies, too: there were baby dishes and a bouncer. A couple of things to keep in mind: there’s no staff on site, though they seem to stop by around check-in, and the property is very close to the road, so noise at night might wake a sensitive baby. There’s no elevator, which makes the stairs challenging with lots of luggage. A heater is provided, but the place may still be cold in winter.

The tatami room meant there was no chance of my 19-month-old falling off a bed, and there’s a door separating the room from the living room. I could put the baby to sleep and have a late-night snack. The bathroom heater kept it warm, and there are lots of repairs. It was the best! I’ll stay here again when I’m in Fukuoka.

Our child enjoyed crawling and playing in the Japanese-style room. The layout was 1DK, and the place was new, clean, well equipped, and very baby-friendly. We could relax in a convenient, home-like setting while still enjoying a change of scene. The location was good, too. There was a lot of traffic noise at night, which stood out because I usually live in a quiet residential area. Also, with no elevator, carrying luggage and our child up and down the stairs would have been very difficult if my husband hadn’t been there. Even so, I’d like to stay again if I get the chance. The room had a kitchenette, microwave, washing machine, bathroom dryer, dishes, cooking utensils, humidifier, and heater. There were plenty of baby items as well: high and low chairs, a bouncer, children’s tableware, bottle detergent, baby disinfectant spray, and a stroller.
