The laundry took some patience. There are two washers and two dryers, and the guest ahead of us spent over 1.5 hours using both dryers without getting their clothes dry. The staff were kind enough to take that guest’s laundry out of the washer so we could start ours. Since it was late, we hung our clothes in the room and ran the dehumidifier at full power. They were nearly dry by morning. Our twin room was so compact that opening the suitcases fully or moving around was difficult, and we couldn’t adjust the temperature, which was uncomfortable at times. Breakfast was basic, with few choices, and refills were slow, so things ran out quickly when it was busy. This might suit a solo traveler focused on saving money over room and amenities.

I’ve stayed at a few B’s, and this one impressed me the least. The room looked straight onto a brick wall I could almost touch, and the place felt a bit worn. The staff seemed indifferent, though one person did help me book a remote hiking inn over the phone, which was genuinely helpful.

The room was clean, though small, as is typical for hotels in Japan. There’s a Family Mart about 10 metres from the main entrance, right downstairs, and Hakata Station is an easy five-minute walk away.

For the price, this felt overrated and more like a 2.5-star place than a 3-star hotel. It’s not particularly close to the station, the room is small and the amenities are only so-so. The room was hot, with no AC remote or way to adjust the temperature. A wall is right outside the window, so opening it doesn’t feel appealing. Definitely overpriced for what it is. ☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️
