The mattress was reasonably firm, and the apartment was fairly clean. But it felt rundown and basic, with steep stairs. Communication was poor, which made finding the place and getting inside a real hassle.

They never gave me the room number, so I was stuck waiting outside for half an hour. A Japanese passerby helped me get in touch with them, and only then could I enter. Nobody even apologized. It was the worst part of my trip to Japan.

There isn't much in the way of amenities: no proper kitchen, just a little fridge, kettle, and microwave. The washing machine was confusing and barely worked, and it was noisy, probably because of the neighbors or other guests. The place is spacious enough for two, but check-in starts at 4 pm with a door code and check-out is at 10 am. You have to leave your luggage somewhere else, like at the train station. We wanted to try it for ourselves, but thankfully the rest of our trip is in hotels, which I can wholeheartedly recommend. This was a real flop, and I can't recommend it at all.
