The rooms were spotless, and I liked that the whole hotel is non-smoking. I was disappointed by how noisy some people in our group were, and the food didn't really focus on local dishes, so we had to go elsewhere for those.

The hot spring was really, really good, but the staff came across as cold. Maybe they're young, but the service felt a bit distant.

I wouldn't recommend it.

The buffet breakfast and dinner were a plus, and the rooms felt spacious and clean. For the price, this is a good option in Iizaka Onsen, one of Oshu's three most famous hot spring areas. If you arrive late, the parking lot is about 300 meters from the entrance, though the hotel runs a shuttle, so it wasn't an issue.

The breakfast buffet had plenty to choose from, including Japanese and Western dishes, fresh vegetables, and freshly baked bread. We started the day well, which added to a lovely trip with friends. I stayed here with a married couple we're friends with, and dinner was a real treat: lots of dishes at the all-you-can-drink buffet, plus limited-quantity kamameshi and ramen to finish. We had reserved table tennis ahead of time, too. After dinner it was fun to get some exercise, and once we'd sobered up we got very competitive. The hotel having activities like that is great. We'd happily come back if we get the chance.
