R Hotel Re.Osaka Nagai Park

Modern, clean, and quiet, and I really enjoyed the sauna.

Nice place, and it’s close to the station.

Great hotel in a great spot, near plenty of restaurants and the subway.

I’d already spent more than 10 days at the hotel, but when a small cabin-size bag was left in luggage storage, I was threatened with the possibility that it would be handed to the police. I had to change my plans and rush from Kyoto to Osaka to retrieve it, which added a lot of unnecessary stress to my trip. I’ve left luggage at hotels in many countries, sometimes for longer periods, and never had this become a problem. As a solo traveler, I expected some understanding, especially after staying so many nights. Instead, there was no simple discussion or flexibility, and the manager’s response felt rigid and focused on policy. I also felt that information I’d shared about my situation was used against me. Getting those messages while traveling was upsetting over something so minor, and I felt uncomfortable and unwelcome. I hope other travelers aren’t made to feel this way when they’re away from home.
