Silk Hotel

The rooms are budget-friendly, but I wouldn’t recommend staying more than two nights.

It’s very cheap and close to the station, but I can’t see any other upside. The carpet was still full of hair and dirt despite the noisy vacuuming, and there was rubbish scattered under the bed. I wonder what the vacuuming is even accomplishing. The air conditioner filters hadn’t been cleaned either. I saw three female cleaners, and wished they’d take care of the filters too. During room cleaning, they set sheets straight on the hallway floor before changing them. It wasn’t a one-off, they did it with sheets from all the rooms, right on the dirty corridor.

The location is great, with plenty of izakayas within walking distance. The front desk staff were lively and friendly, and they left a complimentary bottle of mineral water each day. Room quality varies, but they’re generally dirty and smelly. I know the building is old, but I’m not convinced the rooms are being cleaned properly. The refrigerator was covered in mold, so I had to shut it carefully, lol.

I’ve stayed at countless business hotels, and this was the dirtiest one I’ve ever experienced. The air conditioners were filthy. I turned one on and got dust, then opened the filter and was shocked. They moved me to another room, but it was just as bad. There was some kind of liquid on the remote and trash around the room. The new room also had a dirty makeup puff lying around. I raised it with the owner, but didn’t get the impression they planned to improve anything.
