Hostel Tomar

The location is good, the beds are very comfortable, and the hostel is very clean. There’s also a nice place to store skis and hang up your gear. The common area they advertise closes at 6 pm, and they enforce that rule. You can still use the kitchen after that, but it gets cramped when there are lots of guests. There seemed to be a lot of rules in general. A couple more couches and access to the ground floor in the evening would make a big difference.

I stayed four nights after three days of snowboarding, and it was as clean as the pictures show, cleaner than almost any hotel I’ve stayed in. The hostel is quiet by 10 pm, breakfast starts at 7, and the showers and bathrooms stayed clean without ever being busy. You can rent ski or snowboard gear across the street. If you need to charge more than one phone, bring a multi-plug adapter. And if you have to get up before 7, ask the front desk for your towel the night before. Best hostel I’ve stayed at.

The bus picks up right outside the front door, which makes this place really convenient for skiers and snowboarders. The staff were kind and helpful, and Lin deserves a special thank you for being such an awesome person. If you have a question or need something, Lin will go out of their way to help. I’ll definitely be back.

I didn't stay here, but Mr. Lin was exceptionally kind and deserves five stars on his own. I got off at the wrong stop and was left on a snowy street, needing help to get a taxi to the airport. At first, his colleague couldn't help because of the rules, but Mr. Lin listened to what had happened and decided to assist. He later explained the company policy so I wouldn't get the wrong idea about his colleague. His three languages, professionalism and genuine care really impressed me. If you meet him, you're in very good hands. 🙌
