The main thing that kept this from being perfect was the futon. It’s so thin that it feels like sleeping on the floor. There are extra futons in the closet, but only enough for the number of guests, so you can’t layer them. Maybe it’s fine if you sleep on your back, but as a side sleeper my shoulders hurt because I didn’t sink into it. It left me feeling as worn out as after a cheap hotel in Nishinari. I’d come back, but I’d bring my own futon. There’s a lot to like otherwise. The garden is nice, there are cats nearby, and the bath is good. The kitchen has a rice cooker, microwave, electric kettle, chopsticks, knives, forks, and dishes, though no condiments. You can use the washing machine for sweaty clothes, and there’s a bike share station close by. A supermarket and convenience store are nearby, as are some nice restaurants. It’s on the edge of town, but getting to Katamachi and Korinbo is easy, so it worked well for a flexible trip. From Kanazawa Station, a taxi booked on GO costs around 1700-1900 yen. Riding a shared bike takes about 15-20 minutes at an easy pace.
