We got breakfast tickets from the owner for ¥400 each, and at a nearby cafe that covered a drink plus a meal of our choice, either Western or Japanese style. It would normally cost over ¥1,000, so it’s great value and worth getting the tickets. I stayed here on a motorcycle road trip and got along well with the owner, who rides too. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and there were plenty of shower supplies and amenities. I’ll definitely return.

We stayed in a Japanese style room in the main guest building. There were showers, a shared area, a lovely porch, and even the occasional visit from Fufu. The owners were kind and helpful, gave us a map and directions, and picked us up from and dropped us back at the JR Station. They provided everything we needed and more. We’d planned to visit Seki without realizing how far it was from the station we needed. That was our mistake, not theirs. We had no trouble walking there or to the other places around, so this is a peaceful minshuku if you’re okay with a bit of walking.

Lily, a super cuddly shiba, greets you by bringing over her favorite pink toy. The owner and his wife are so kind, and the rooms are really clean. They also offer breakfast tickets for the nearby cafe and rental bikes, both at very reasonable prices.

Hiro and his wife made us feel at home and helped us see Gifu from a local’s perspective. They picked us up at the station, then went out of their way to drive us to Seki the next day. They’re kind, lovely people, and their house is beautiful and cozy. There are three adorable cats too, which we loved as pet people. We had a perfect stay and would give it six stars if we could. This guesthouse and its hosts will stay in our hearts.
