Terrace Resort Ginowan

We packed our luggage for the family’s check-in day, only to find out there were problems with the booking. We’d reserved for three adults, one pet dog, and one parking space, but were told there were no pets allowed and no parking, and received access instructions for just two adults. The hotel never replied to my Agoda messages or emails, and Agoda didn’t help us. This was the worst experience we had in Japan, and I can’t recommend Terrace Resort Ginowan. They advertised pets allowed and car parking, and booked us for three people, so it wasn’t our family’s fault that those options weren’t actually available. I’d contacted Terrace Ginowan Resort through Agoda on January 3, 2024 to confirm the three adults, dog, and parking, but got no reply. I emailed again the day before check-in and still heard nothing. On the day we were meant to arrive, I had to ask a Japanese interpreter to call and confirm the pet and parking arrangements. The establishment doesn’t give refunds, even when it doesn’t provide the advertised services. Book at your own risk. There are tombs in front of the hotel. Parking spaces, maybe? No pets allowed. Call them, because messages and emails won’t get a response. They should remove those options and say to call for information.

There isn’t much within walking distance, as other people have said. With a car, though, there are supermarkets and convenience stores nearby. The parking space is surprisingly tight, and a minivan would stick out. The rooms and bathrooms are reasonably clean, but the washing machine, air conditioner, and Roomba filters seemed neglected and so dirty I hesitated to use them. The lint filter in the washing machine was especially bad, and I ended up cleaning it myself. There are much better places to stay, so I wouldn’t recommend this one.

The room is spacious, but having so few things in it makes it inconvenient. There’s a washing machine but no laundry basket, no towel rack by the sink, no work desk, and no basic condiments in the kitchen. All they’ve got is a TV and DVD player, a sofa, and a bed. Who uses those players these days? Do they think having so little stuff is stylish? There’s no convenience store close by, and parking is difficult, so it’s hard to find a good place to stay. Also, while I was out walking in the morning, an old man came up and asked, “Are you from mainland Japan? Hey?” I’m strong-willed, so I said, “Yes, I’m from mainland Japan. So what?” He slunk away. I still wonder what he wanted.
