Culvilla Itoshiro

The showers in the bathroom have impressively strong water pressure, which feels great. The rooms are roomy, meals are included, and the place is comfortable for a fair price. It’s a third-sector inn, so it isn’t luxurious. Keep your expectations for high-end service in check.

I stayed here the night before climbing Mount Hakusan, and would choose this inn again if I get the chance to visit Itoshiro. The room and meals were both excellent, and I felt they paid attention to all the little things. The tea in the room stood out in particular. It was very fragrant, with lots of drupelets floating in it, and tasted delicious. Thank you very much.

A handy base for a mountain climb. The place is surprisingly spacious and clean, the rooms and bathrooms are good, and the food is good too. The only downside is how remote it is. There aren't any shops nearby.

I was at Winghills for training. It has a dormitory feel, though the rooms themselves are fairly spacious. The bathroom, especially, was much cleaner than the website photos made me expect. It's tucked deep in the mountains, around 30 minutes from the closest convenience store or supermarket. I only tried breakfast, which was pretty average for this kind of accommodation. If small bathrooms, shared toilets, and the rooms in the Villa Wing units are concerns for you, this is a strong contender.
