The dinner was typical French food, and divinely delicious. Nature surrounds this place: trees fill the view from the room and corridor windows, and from the indoor hot bath you can look at the leaves and mountains. The house is beautiful for a relaxing stay. I could spend ages looking at the little details in the paintings on the walls and the crafts scattered around.

The family spa is clean and wonderful, and the kids loved it until they found insects in our room. With all the trees and nature around, I know that can happen, but I caught seven of them. The kids couldn't sleep until I'd caught every one.

For 15 years we've been coming to this forest pension on family trips. Our fourth stay was on August 8th, and the mountain lodge style building was still well maintained. The cool mornings and evenings, quiet green forest, and faint babble of the brook were just as I remembered. Dinner was a high quality French course, and I ate everything, though some women and children might not manage the full portion. It could be worth asking about when booking. Both dinner and breakfast were made with carefully chosen ingredients and real care. I imagine plenty of repeat guests, like me, come back for the setting and food.

The hot springs left my skin feeling so smooth, and the meals were amazing. We had Western food for dinner and Japanese food in the morning. The fresh greenery during Golden Week was lovely too. Fantastic stay!
