Lido Park Resort Hachijo

The ocean views and sounds were spectacular, the food was exquisite, and the room was great. Above all, the staff and service went well beyond what we expected. They were caring and helpful with us as English speakers, and did extra to help us see what this incredible island has to offer. This place made our Hachijojima stay special. Can't wait to come back!

We booked a sea-view room and loved the view. The public bath was lovely too, especially the scenery from the outdoor bath 😍. The banquet and front desk service were great, though housekeeping was a bit inconsistent. Still, it was a very enjoyable stay. Highly recommended.

The rooms are really spacious, and right across the street there's a cute farm and a beautiful view of waves crashing against the rocky shore. The staff were kind and understanding when I made American mistakes, which made me feel much more comfortable than I expected at this hidden gem. The front desk arranged secure transportation for me many times, and I couldn't have managed without them. You may read that you need a rental car for the island. If you're willing to pay, though, I found two drivers who knew enough English to get by, and communicating through a smart home app's translation was also easy. I'd suggest hailing a taxi at the airport and asking whether the driver is interested.

The hotel views are lovely, with the ocean on one side and ‘Hachijo-Fuji’ on the other. We came in early April and had a great stay at a really affordable price. The hotel is a little tired, though the rooms have been refurbished and the amenities are great. There's no food or drink within walking distance, so plan ahead or eat at the hotel. Renting an electric bike is a great way to see the island, and the shuttle bus will pick you up from and drop you off at the airport.
