The rooms were inviting, clean, and comfortable, and the country-style place has been laid out and decorated with a lot of care. An energetic older couple run it. Breakfast and dinner are included in the standard stay, and both are home-cooked and delicious, with attentive service. Don’t skip them.

A friendly family-run lodge, with a huge manga collection you can read by the fireplace.

The service was wonderful, and the food was the best we’ve had at any ski lodge in Japan.

The couple running the inn spoke to me so warmly that I felt at ease. For around 10,000 yen a night, it included a course dinner. Next time I’d like to settle in with a book on the sofa beside the fireplace.
