The host was so friendly and flexible, even though we skipped breakfast to chase the best snow. Before our trip, she called us in Hong Kong to confirm our arrival details and ask if we needed help with things like lift passes, which made a great first impression. We only planned to eat dinner there once but went back for a second meal, one Western and one Japanese. The food was stunning, and you can really feel their love for local produce. Our three-bed room was comfortable, with cozy bedding and a decent amount of space by Japanese standards. The small dry room was enough for our gear. Appi Ski Resort was about a five-minute drive away, so catching the first lifts and coming back for a rest was easy.

The public onsen was just right for unwinding after a long day skiing or snowboarding. We stayed four lovely nights at this cozy, pet-friendly pension. The owner was warm and looked after us well, with great dishes made using Hachimantai local ingredients. The room was clean, comfortable, and cozy. We'll definitely come back to Mutti when we're in the area again.

Breakfast and dinner were plentiful and delicious, and there was daily transport to and from the Appi Kogen ski fields. The on-site onsen has a lovely outdoor bath surrounded by snow. Kayoko was such a warm, friendly, and helpful host, and nothing seemed like too much trouble. Our room was warm and comfortable, and local restaurants were very close by. We had a wonderful four-night stay at Pension Mutti. Just awesome.

After a long day, it was lovely to have both an indoor and an outdoor onsen. The woman running the hotel was kind and very helpful, and she speaks great English.

I had a fantastic breakfast with locally sourced ingredients, and the menu changed each day. Dinner can be arranged with the host. The place is family-friendly, and there are several dining options within walking distance. APPI Kogen is close by, about four minutes by car. I've also seen people walk it, which may take 25 minutes. It's quaint and well located. During my four-day stay, the host and her team took good care of me, and the host speaks English and Japanese. I'd love to come back.
