The whole place has a calm, quiet feel, and I really appreciated the courtesy and service-first attitude of the staff. My favorite perk was the free ramen at 9:30 p.m., which was fun to eat alongside other guests. The breakfast buffet is very Japanese, though it has plenty of Western choices too. There’s also a hot bath, massage chairs, and a collection of Japanese comic videos on the 13th floor. Laundry washing is free, and drying costs very little. At first, being an American in such a Japanese hotel was a bit of a shock, but I eventually got used to it. The room is laid out well and has what you need, including lounge wear. The bed and pillows are traditionally Japanese and firm. Bring Google lens or something similar, since some directions and controls aren’t translated, including the TV remote, air conditioning, and bidet toilet seat controls. The parking garage works like a car dispenser for smaller Japanese cars and vans.

I liked the onsen, the late-night ramen, and the free apple juice. Housekeeping was good, and my room felt roomier than the one I had at JR Inn, though it was still a typical Japanese-sized room and not very big. At reception, the female staff gave much better service than the male night staff.

After a long day of walking, the beautiful onsen was especially welcome. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the service was warm, and breakfast was delicious. A really good choice in Hachinohe.

We had a good stay, and the double room was a nice size. It was clean, well located, and had cute little extras like a welcome treat, a morning drink, and ice cream. The hot springs don’t allow people with tattoos. I understand that Japan still has a different attitude to tattoos than the Western world, but it’s sad with tourism growing. We also arrived an hour before check-in, and even though the room was already free, they asked us to pay 2,000 yen for that hour. We refused.
