JR Clement Inn Kochi

For a quick stop, this is a straightforward place with what you need. The room has one small double bed, but two people and a large suitcase still fit comfortably. It’s right opposite Kochi Station, which is convenient, and there’s paid parking in the multistory building next door if you’re driving. You can also take extra pillows up to your room. Breakfast comes as a set, with a few choices.

Nothing fancy, just the usual business hotel facilities. It’s right beside the JR station, and hotel guests get free parking for one car per night of their stay in the public multistory car park. The staff know English, though I found their manner cold.

I was transferred by JR bus after my train was delayed, so I reached the hotel around 1:30 AM, six hours behind schedule. Arriving somewhere new in a rush and needing WiFi, I really needed clear directions and staff who could explain things. There’s plenty of room to improve the signage and instructions, and the availability of English-speaking staff.

The rooms were clean, though a little small. For this price, that’s not much to complain about. It’s easy to get to, right beside the station, and parking is affordable. The value is good, even if some things occasionally feel like they’re only at the bare minimum.
