For 14k jpy, this was great value, especially with such a large room. The breakfast was amazing. The hotel and some of its equipment are older, but they’re very well maintained, and you can still tell it used to be a posh hotel. New paper walls and curtains help give it a fairly modern look.

Booking online was easy, and check-in and checkout were straightforward. The room was spacious, clean, and affordable, and the staff were extremely nice. They even gave us extra toiletries, plus a couple of complimentary coffees and soft drinks. Recommended.

The restaurant serves what I think of as traditional Japanese comfort food, and the dessert is top notch. The rooms are large, clean, and comfortable. One odd thing, the bathroom floor seems to shift, and it made me dizzy before I realized what was happening.

The Wi-Fi was extremely slow and pretty much unusable, but I still give it 5 stars. After lots of weekends in franchise hotels with tiny rooms, staying at Grand Hotel was a relief. The rooms are large and open, the service is exceptional, and the location is convenient. The bed was comfortable, and the shower puts out lots of water, which felt great. It’s better value than franchise places like APA and Super Hotel, and I rarely have such a good hotel experience. If you’re weighing it against cheaper options, this one is worth serious consideration.

The staff are superb, and both the room and facilities are well appointed. There’s plenty of underground parking for motorbikes, and they’ll do their best to fit you in.
