Dinner and breakfast were both amazing. I stayed here as part of a Walk Japan guided tour for the Michinoku Trail. It’s a Japanese-style hotel with tatami rooms. Men’s and women’s toilets are separate from the rooms, with sinks and a shared handwashing station. Downstairs there are two bathing areas: one has showers only, which I didn’t try, and the other is a small traditional onsen-style bath. It’s a good idea to coordinate bathing times with the other guests. We got up early to watch the sunrise at Tanesashi kaigan ten’nen shibafu-chi, and it was amazing.

The owner was very gracious with us, especially since it was our first time staying at a minshuku. My partner and I spent one night at the Ishibashi Minshuku while hiking the Michonoku Coastal Trail, before traveling onward. Dinner had an incredible variety of seafood, and they served us a traditional Japanese breakfast when we left. Thanks again!

Mdm manager was very hospitable, and the minshuku was clean. The meals were delicious and nutritious, and the location right beside the train station was excellent. We rushed out in the morning to catch an early train, and I left my phone behind. She helped send it with our “Oku Japan” luggage to the next destination. Many thanks to her!

Dinner and breakfast were incredible, with lots of fresh fish, and both meals were really filling. It’s a very nice inn, with a friendly proprietor and great views down to the ocean.
