Resort Hotel Mihagi

The concept room is fun and has plenty of space. It doesn't give you an ocean view, and there are no windows you can open, but the shower and room amenities are nice. The staff were very friendly.

We booked a clean, roomy 28-square-meter room with all the necessities provided. The staff service was great. They sell souvenirs and offer extras like a private hot spring, facials, and hyperbaric oxygen. We tried the private bath for 45 minutes and hyperbaric oxygen for an hour. Without paying extra, you can still use the public hot springs, with separate facilities for men and women, indoor and open-air baths, plus massage chairs. Dinner was hearty and quite good. Breakfast was just fine, though it wasn't really to our taste. There's a bus stop nearby, and you can check the full timetable on Google.

Don't expect a fancy lobby or rooms here. This is a traditional resort-style hotel, and the location isn't convenient if you don't have a rental car. What stood out was the staff and service, which were better than at most five-star hotels. Everyone was kind, welcoming, and clearly keen to look after guests. I'd book here again. Five stars!

My Japanese-style tatami room faced the sea, had no bed, and was very spacious. The ocean view was lovely, and the toilet and bath were separate. When I checked in at night, the futon was already set out. The room was clean, and the whole building seemed well maintained and not especially old. The heater struggled a bit with a room that size, and the bathroom and toilet had no heater, so those spaces were very cold. The sleeping area stayed warm enough, though, and I slept really well. Breakfast was Japanese-style and served without a buffet, with no Western food. It's not near public transportation, so you'd need a rental car or taxi. I'm not sure about buses. I recommend the hotel and really enjoyed my stay.
