Gran Palette Hakodate

The nights were quiet, and the staff were kind and accommodating. It’s a cozy, lovely hotel with a pleasing wooden look and a good location. I had a wonderful stay and would come back.

I spent one night here in June and couldn’t have asked for a better stay. The room was spacious and clean, and the staff were welcoming and friendly. It’s close to a tram stop, with the JR station, Ropeway, and Red Brick Warehouse all walkable. I’d stay again if I return to Hakodate, and recommend it to others.

We booked through booking.com for our honeymoon, and the staff made it feel special. They left a handwritten note on the bed congratulating us on our marriage, which was such a lovely surprise. When we had an issue with the air conditioning, they checked it the next day and gave us an electric fan in case it happened again overnight. They also gave us a gift bag as an apology, and we used it for the rest of our trip. We really appreciated their care and courtesy. The location isn’t the best, but for the price it’s a very good deal. The tram station, red brick warehouse, and Mt Hakodate ropeway are all within walking distance. The rooftop was a nice place to spend a few evenings looking toward Mt Hakodate with a can of beer.

The rooms are spacious and the AC works well. It’s a clean, cozy hotel in a great spot for tourists, close to Hakodate station, about a five-minute drive or a 14-minute walk. Staff are very polite and kind. They greet you at the door and help you find good places around town.
