Route Inn Grantia Hakodate Goryokaku

The hotel looks more worn than most others, especially the furniture and facilities, but that wasn’t a major issue. The towels and bedsheets were clean, well above satisfactory. What really needs work is communication with international guests. Staff who speak almost no English can cause all kinds of confusion. When I asked about the hotel car park rules, the receptionist just shook his head and said no. I was staying two nights and wanted to use my car the next morning, but he couldn’t explain why. I eventually understood that I couldn’t take the car out until checkout, so I had to use public transport during my stay. If staff can’t communicate, written notes or notices guests can read would help. I had also booked an adjoining room, as shown in my booking details, but they refused to give it to me. I was simply dissatisfied with this service.
