Hotel Blancvert Nasu

The staff were lovely and did their best to help us. When my daughter came down with a fever one night, they had a medical kit with some medicine and an ice pillow. She couldn't make it to breakfast the next morning, so they prepared rice balls and jam bread for us to take to the room, though nothing else could be taken back. The kids also had fun with the dinosaurs. My younger daughter was a little scared at first but sad to say goodbye by the end. We spent three nights there during Obon, probably the busiest period of the year, and had a good time overall. It's a very kid-friendly hotel, and the service made me happy to recommend it to families. The location is a little awkward, as you have to drive along a couple of very narrow roads, but attractions like Nasu Highland Park, Teddy bear museum, Minamigaoka dairy farm, and the ropeway were about 15-20 minutes away by car. A car is definitely more convenient than public transport. The hotel feels dated, with old-looking lights and decor, though it wasn't too rundown. Our room smelled a little musty, especially in the rain. The bathrooms are small but functional. We booked breakfast and dinner, and both meals were tasty. Dinner included good meat shabushabu one night and sukiyaki the next, plus a mostly cold buffet with some kid-friendly options. Drinks were included for kids but not adults at dinner. We had evening plans one night and asked to remove dinner from our booking, but they couldn't do that. The pool also feels old, but the kids loved it and it was handy on rainy days. The onsen was quite nice, with an outdoor bath, and there was a small playroom with toys as well as a full room of Japanese manga.

There are lots of dinosaur decorations, including a huge one in the lobby that moves. It's about 20 minutes from Mount Jeans, which was convenient. The hotel and rooms are spacious and clean, and I had a great stay. Staff were very polite and helpful; many were foreigners who could speak Japanese and at least one other language.

Blancvert Nasu Hotel Blancvert Nasu was a relaxing, inviting place for a peaceful getaway, surrounded by beautiful nature. Everything felt impeccably clean and well kept, and the amenities were top-notch. The staff were friendly and attentive, making sure our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. I had an excellent experience and would happily recommend it for a rejuvenating visit to Nasu. Can't wait to return!

A wonderful place to stay if someone in your family is really into dinosaurs.
