Bar Hotel Hakone Kazan

It’s a smaller property, but the concept is distinctive and everything feels thoughtfully designed. We arrived to champagne at check-in, and the process was quick and easy. The staff were lovely, and some spoke English, which made things simpler. The view is stunning and the onsen was amazing. Drinks were complimentary, and it was a treat to have dinner while the bartender mixed cocktails right in front of us. One of the best hotels I’ve stayed at. Highly recommend!

This place feels like Disneyland for adults. They’re less concerned with whether you’re drunk than with whether you’ve had enough, and that feeling is incredible. It’s honestly easy to pick at luxury hotels, but there’s nothing to doubt about this bar hotel in Hakone. From Makoto welcoming us to the bartender, whose name I unfortunately missed, every cocktail was made with such care that my wife loved them all. By the way, it’s my first round 😄

There’s a cozy, cave-like smoking lounge with a tiny, three-foot-high entrance door. That was my favorite part. The main bar has a wonderful fireplace surrounded by comfortable seats, and there’s also a lovely lounge that stays open late with free snacks and drinks. The hotel has several shared hot spring baths as well as private onsens you can reserve. Many premium spirits and excellent cocktails are included in the stay. The views are beautiful, too. A lovely, cozy bar and hotel in Hakone.

Loved the rooms and onsens, and the cocktails at the bar reception were even better. They welcomed us with a glass of bubbles, then served unique, delicious cocktails all night. The service and food were fab too.
