The staff’s attention to detail was impeccable. We used to joke that they somehow knew whenever we were coming or going, because our shoes were always waiting by the door when we were about to head out. I still don’t know how they remembered whose shoes belonged to whom. There were so many kind, hospitable moments that we still tell our friends about them. One staff member even drove us to the nearest bus stop when we needed to take a bus to the attractions on our first day, since the hotel is tucked into the hills. We can’t thank the staff enough for the experience. The food was delicious every time, and what a memorable experience it was. Our room and restroom were clean and spacious. The baths were clean and well maintained, with amazing views. We had an amazing time in Hakone, and staying here was a huge part of it. We’ll certainly return if we find ourselves there again. Thank you to the staff!

We spent three nights here and loved every breakfast and kaiseki dinner. The private onsen was wonderful both day and night, with the mountains all around. Everything felt so right that five stars hardly seems enough. 🥹

We had a really nice couple of nights here as a family of four with two young kids. The staff were considerate and kind, and our room was quiet, clean, and roomy. We’d happily stay again when we’re back in the area. The Japanese food was high quality.

From the room and the bath, we could see across to the mountains. Our Wa Fuu room was modern and spotless, with wonderfully comfortable floor beds and a private onsen that kept flowing. The shower area and tiles were well maintained. Having meals brought to the room was convenient, and the set menu was delicious. Bravo!
