It felt like being at home. This is a sweet, slightly aged little place, apparently run by a kind couple who spoke adorably broken English. They walked us through the house rules, showed us around, carried my suitcase upstairs, and said they’d knock at 8 for breakfast.

The owner was friendly, the food was nice, and the hot spa was good too.

This is an inn I’d like to return to. We went for a short trip at the end of the year, and the price was very reasonable with dinner and breakfast included. The guesthouse is upstairs on the second floor and has four rooms total. There’s one hot spring bath, which guests can take turns using whenever they like. The spring water was very good, and both meals were delicious.

The owner of the pension welcomed us so warmly that I immediately felt at ease. It was a lovely place to stay, with good food, a relaxing atmosphere, and a hot spring bath we could use privately. It would be nice to have an inn like this in Gora Onsen. There isn’t much of a view, though.
